We love the craftmanship over at Iris, so we knew they could make the vision for this OG come to life. This version starts with a Bearclaw spruce top—aesthetically intricate and tonally diverse, producing balanced, dry and woody sounds with excellent projection due to the mahogany back and sides and scalloped Adirondack spruce bracing. Loud, with a generous amount of headroom, but boasts excellent dynamics for fingerpicking and complex flatpicking. Again, and we can't stress it enough, the OG can do anything.
Leading to the unique feel of an Iris is the mahogany "C" shaped neck, fastened by a bolt-on mortise and tenon neck joint for enhanced stability and resonance. Topping the neck is an Indian rosewood fingerboard, adorned with 19 frets and dot inlays.
