Gibson J-45 '50s Original Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Ebony

For so many working musicians, the Gibson J-45 '50s Original was, is, and will forever be "The Workhorse." This left-handed '50s-inspired round-shoulder dreadnought acoustic comes together in a shape reminiscent of the J-45s that proliferated through post-war American culture. Authentic materials, shapes, styles, and sounds all assemble for a reliable and honest acoustic experience.

After the model's introduction in 1942, the J-45 slipped into the current of culture to become Gibson's flagship acoustic guitar. In the spirit of one of Gibson's most iconic models, today's J-45 '50s Original plays authentically to the classic of the name's past. This all begins with the iconic round shoulder dreadnought shape with a Sitka spruce top and select mahogany back and sides. These two tonewoods land among Gibson's – and acoustic guitars' at large – most popular for a classic palette balancing the mahogany's richness and the spruce's brightness. Gloss nitrocellulose lacquer wraps this model in a deep ebony finish on the outside while traditional hand-scalloped X-Bracing lines its inside for a balanced and concise voice.

This '50s-inspired model brings on a mahogany neck in a Rounded profile with compound Dovetail neck-to-body construction. With a full grip, this mahogany neck plays easily with a rosewood fingerboard. A twelve-inch radius, Mother of Pearl dot inlays, and twenty Standard-sized frets make this J-45 smoothly played on the fingers. From here, this left-handed dreadnought is built up with a couple reliable hardware specifications. Strings are grounded by a Traditional Belly Up rosewood bridge and bone saddle alongside a TUSQ nut and Grover strap cream button tuning machines toward the headstock. This J-45 '50s Original is topped off with a '50s-era tortoise pickguard and a L.R. Baggs VTC electronics system with volume and tone controls bringing its rich tones to the stage. Traveling with an included Gibson hardshell case, this dreadnought easily and safely moves from place to place.

The Workhorse is alive as it's ever been with this left-handed J-45 '50s Original.
