Fender American Vintage II 1960 Precision Bass, Rosewood, Daphne Blue

Fender’s American Vintage II Series is a meticulously designed collection of period-correct electric guitars and basses. Each model is carefully chosen and recreated based on its contribution to the Fender story of that year. All models feature year specific bodies, necks, hardware, finishes, and pickups. American Vintage II is the most accurate production series of legacy instruments across the timeline of Fender history.

The Fender American Vintage II 1960 Precision Bass is a celebration of a seminal year for the P-Bass, as it’s the first full year that we see varying mid-to-late-ā€˜50s features culminate into the iconic Precision platform. Ā In 1954 the P-Bass received its Strat style body contours, but it still had cues from a Tele like the headstock and single coil pickup. In the middle of 1957, the P-Bass split single coil pickup and Strat-Style headstock replaced both of those features, leaving much of the Tele lineage behind. In mid-1959, the slab rosewood board and tortoiseshell pickguard were introduced, creating that class P-Bass look.

The AVII ’66 Precision Bass sports a 1960 ā€œCā€ shape maple neck with a 7.25ā€ radius slab-rosewood fingerboard. With a scale of 34ā€ and a nut width of 1.70ā€, the ’60 P-Bass is substantial but comfortable. 4 threaded steel saddles at the bridge keep things in place, while tuners are still reverse open gear. Finishes are gloss nitrocellulose lacquer over sold alder bodies. The Pure Vintage ’60 split single coil pickup is controlled by a master volume and a master tone.

Comes complete with a vintage-style brown hardshell case with orange interior.
